About The BVFD Jr. Members
The Buchanan Valley Fire Department Jr. program has been a great asset to the department for many years. The program is designed to teach the skills necessary to be a firefighter. Many who have come through the BVFD Jr program have gone on to become paid firefighters, EMTs, and 911 dispatchers. Through the Jr program they learn about honesty, courage, self pride, and responsibility. The Jr's are also able to take state certified classes that if they decide to be a paid firefighter or EMT will help them get the job. For the parents, the Buchanan Valley Fire Department takes pride in ensuring the safety of all of its members with a special emphasis on the Jrs.
