December 31st-MVA- At 12:23hrs BVFD was alert to Cumberland County Box 252-105 at the intersection of Shippensburg Rd and Ridge Rd for a motor vehicle accident. SU-27 responded but was placed in service by Cumberland County while en route.
December 19th-WET PAINT- As a reminder to all BVFD Members, the painting project has started, USE CAUTION for wet paint. The painting will start in the dining hall (Bathrooms, Kitchen, Foyer, Coat Room, Main Dining Area, and Doors). The project will then finish in the Apparatus Bays (All Entry Doors, All Interior Doors/Door Frames, and Offices). Please use caution and more information will be posted shortly.
December 17th-18th- Secret Santa- This weekend BVFD Members finished up wrapping presents for the annual Secret Santa program. The pre-selected families not only received gifts but also a complete Christmas Day meal with all the sides. BVFD would like to take a minute to thank each and every person that assisted with this great program. December 15th-Thank You- BVFD would like to send a special thank you to the Cole Brothers Farm for the donation of the Christmas Tree. December 15th-Upgrade- With a slow month so far in calls, some much needed apparatus upgrades have been getting completed. For better visibility and a lower power draw more of the original strobes on Special Unit 27 have been upgraded to LED's. This project started over the summer with the replacement of the rear strobes to LED's and the total project is almost complete. December 5th-Training- This evening ET27 participated with Cashtown Community Fire Co. Adams County Co.4 with water supply training. Co.4 Members used this time to become familiar with their new Tanker, and ET27 supplied it's portable folda tank to help with tank to tank transfer. BVFD would like to thank Co.4 for including us with this training. (Pics Stolen From Cashtown Co.4) December 4th-Box Alarm- At 11:46hrs BVFD was alerted on the upgrade to Box 1-4 50 Perrin Ave for smoke in the house. ET27 and the Chief responded, shortly after responding the Box was down graded and ET27 returned available.
December 3rd-MVA- At 21:33hrs as BVFD Members were cleaning up from the Crab Leg Feed BVFD was alerted for a motor vehicle accident in Box 27-7 6300 block of Chambersburg Road. ET27 and the Chief and SU27 and the Assistant responded, upon arrival units found one vehicle off the roadway with one pt sitting in the drivers seat. Crews turned pt care over to BLS and PSP, and checked for hazards. Chief 27 then placed the box in service.
