Dec 22nd - -  BVFD was dispatched and responded to Franklin County Box 16-1 for the house fire.  27's units arrived on scene and assisted in operation as well as establishing tanker shuttle.

Dec 22nd - Toys and Candy- BVFD once again held Secret Santa for some local kids. With the help from the community and Mr. Ed's we were able to give five families toys and candy.  All of the candy was donated by Mr. Ed's Elephant Museum 6019 Chambersburg Road. Thank you to everyone that helped this year.

Dec 12th- BVFD- ET-27 was dispatched into Franklin County box 16-3 for an auto accident.  ET-27 arrived on location and assisted Franklin Squad 7 with freeing one.  ET-27 was then released by Hamiltonban Twp. Police.

Dec 10th- BVFD- On Dec 16th at dusk at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg Maryland they will be lighting a tree for all of the Fallen Firefighters.

Dec 7th - Thank You -  A special thank you to the Cole Brother's Tree Farm located at 1507 Narrows   Road Biglerville, PA 17307 for donating a beautiful Christmas tree.  The tree is proudly displayed in our social hall for all to see.      Happy Holidays from Buchanan Valley Fire Department.

Dec 7th - Events - The Events page has been updated with the 2009 events.  There are a few new events in 2009 and some removed altogether.  We hope that you enjoy the new events we are trying in 2009 and hope that the ones we remove were not your favorites. These  are the remaining events off of the 2008 calendar of events.  And as always your help in our fund raising activities is the success of our department.

Dec 7th - Reminder - BVFD will be again this year doing a Secret Santa for a needy family in our local area.  We need the help of everyone in the community and the fire house to pull this off again for the third year.  We need your help with the donations of food and toys and they will be greatly appreciated.  You can drop it by the fire house or see any member and they will make sure the donations get were they need to go.  Thank You from BVFD

Dec 6th - Thank You - BVFD would like to thank Franklin County 21 ( Metal Twp FD) for transferring for the Crab feed.  The feed was great with good food and snow.  The next feed will be Jan 1st, the Pork & Sauerkraut Dinner.

Dec 3rd - BVFD - In 2009 we will be have monthly drill on the third Wednesday of each month. Drill will be starting at 1830, this is until further notice.

 Dec 1st - Congratulations - The Buchanan Valley Fire Department would like to congratulate F/F Jeremy Jeffcoat on the new addition to his family.   Dec 1, 2008 at 2258 Madisyn L. Jeffcoat was born weighing 6lb 11 oz. Madisyn and her mom are doing fine.

Dec 1st - MVA - ET 27 Dispatched to Franklin County Box 7-6 for a MVA. ET cancelled enroute.

Dec 1st - MVA -   Bad start for hunting season @ 0525  Special Unit 27 was dispatched for a MVA at the intersection of Shippensburg Road and Ridge Road.  Arrived to find 1 vehicle into a tree.  SU 27 assisted Cumberland County Units on the MVA.

Nov 29th - -  Engine Tanker 27 was dispatched in box 4-1 for a working house fire.  Crews arrived on scene and supplied engine 4-3 w/ 3000 gal of water.  BVFD's crew also performed the primary search of the first floor and basement. After completing the search and cutting off utilities in the basement BVFD assisted with roof operations.
